Plans are well underway for two big upcoming events; the 2012 Erie Community Open House (previously known as Hospital Day) on Sunday, June 3 and the 4th annual Shriners Erie Charity Golf Outing on Monday, June 25.
As is past years, the Erie Community Open House will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and feature a wide variety of activities including an antique/classic car show, craft fair and musical entertainment. Erie’s transformation from an inpatient hospital to a new ambulatory facility will occurred so the Community Open House will give visitors an opportunity to learn all about the changes that have taken place. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide further information.
The Shriners Erie Charity Golf Outing on June 25 will be held at the beautiful Lake Shore County Club in Erie. Registration and lunch will begin at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12 noon. The $125 per person registration fee includes lunch, green fees, golf cart, prizes and dinner. There are also various sponsorships available for the beverage cart ($250), golf cart ($250), bar ($250), putting green ($100) and a hole to tee ($50.

Erie Administrator Named to Interim Post at Springfield
Douglas E. Maxwell, President and CEO of Shriners International, has announced that Charles Walczak, Administrator at Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Erie, has been appointed Interim Administrator at Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Sprinfield. Walczak will be dividing his time between Erie and Springfield until such time as a permanent candidate is recruited for the Springfield post.
This schedule will allow Walczak time to continue his work transforming Erie to an ambulatory model, while at the same time, assisting Springfield in their transitioning efforts.
